Maitreyi Karanth, Founder and CEO, Koma Karanth Foundation

Maitreyi is an actor, comedian and philanthropist. She started stand-up comedy at age 44 as an extension of her real-life persona.

She is the only woman in Hong Kong performing in a one woman show at the Comedy club. The show has sold out over all nine performances. Her TEDx talk, Age is Not Just a Number, It’s a Journey, has garnered more than 300,000 views and touched many hearts.

She founded the nonprofit organisation Koma Karanth Foundation, which builds homes, brings water, electricity and provides support for single mothers in the Philippines. They also provide educational support for children
