She is on a mission to raise awareness, educate and empower anyone impacted by menopause. Lisa wants to signpost women, trans and non-binary people to best practice menopause care; to train professionals so that they can provide the best service to anyone experiencing menopause; and to provide specialised training and support to organistions to positively impact cultural change around menopause.
Menopause is not the end but rather a new beginning. It’s a chance to reeducate and empower yourself with health knowledge, and to implement new lifestyle habits that enable a positive menopause transition and stronger second act.
Her Story
“I was propelled into menopause in January 2012 at 32.
I suffered most with memory loss (so severe I thought it was dementia), brain fog, anxiety, aching bones and muscles, extreme lethargy, mood swings and low libido. I would cry 3 out of the 5 days at work. I was a different person.
In 2017, my Doctor saw me at my worst and encouraged me to take SSRIs. I was so reluctant but after taking it for 2 weeks, I was a new woman. Since then, I have trained and been educated on menopause extensively.
Mymission is to support you with resources so you can be your own health advocate during
your menopause journey.”
On Menopause at Work
The menopause transition hits women at a crucial time in their career. As women climb the career ladder into leadership positions in their 40's and 50's they may experience perimenopause symptoms such as hot flashes, cognitive impairment, poor sleep, fatigue and anxiety. Without education, knowledge and understanding of menopause hey may feel blindsided and this can unnecessarily impact their quality of life and work performance. To reduce this impact more awareness, education and solutions need to be available at work so women don't suffer in silence OR press pause on their career.
